Rain started last night, as promised, and continued all day today. We got the rig mostly ready to go yesterday before the rain started, so it was an easy out this morning, just unhook the electric, hook up the car and go.
It was an uneventful trip up to Washington, except for questions about whether the Brake Buddy was really working (it wasn't - it needed fine tuning), listening to Ms. GPS recalculate endlessly as she tried to route us through downtown D.C. and me trying to run cars off the road on lane changes. I-95 up through D.C. must be one of the worst in the country, congestion, construction and pot holes everywhere. The park we're in for the next 2 weeks is really huge, around 400 spaces. It is well maintained and has a great reputation. They really cater to the D.C. tourist with plenty of info on available tours and how to use the metro. There is a bus stop right in the park, takes you directly to the train for Union Station. So, now that we're in D.C. what's our first stop tomorrow? Smithsonian? White House? National Gallery? Lincoln Memorial?
No. Ikea. Gotta get them Swedish Meatballs.
Here are some odds and ends, pictures from Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestowne.
